Day 1 - WELCOME TO TUSCANY » Private English-speaking chauffeur from Florence International Airport to your villa-style hotel in the Chianti wine country. » In the evening, enjoy a sunset stroll among centuries-old olive groves and grape vines at your boutique hotel. » Welcome toast (Tuscan wine, of course!) and dinner at your 4- or 5-star hotel outside of Siena. Overnight in comfort at your hotel. |
Day 2 - OLIVE OIL & TRUFFLE HUNTING » After breakfast and cappuccino at your hotel, a driver will transport you in style to the rustic Tuscan village of Trequanda. » A local guide will bring you to a family-owned olive farm, where you'll enjoy a behind-the-scenes tasting of extra virgin olive oil -- followed by hunting for wild truffles and mushrooms in the surrounding countryside. » Enjoy a Tuscan lunch prepared by the owners of the olive farm -- featuring ingredients you foraged with the guide. » After your meal, you'll be driven back to your hotel (by private car) in the mid afternoon. Day 3 - PECORINO CHEESE FARM VISIT » After enjoying a sumptuous breakfast overlooking the hills of Chianti, your driver will take you along a scenic route -- passing fruiting vineyards and terracotta farms -- to a local producer of pecorino cheese. » You'll observe how the cheese is made, transforming grass-fed milk into pecorino toscano -- including a tasting with the farm's cheese master. Day 5 - CHIANTI'S CHIANINA COWS » Head in comfort with your local driver to the green fields where Tuscany's prized Chianina cattle pasture. The Chianina cow is one of the oldest breeds in the world and its grass-fed meat is used to craft the world-famous Fiorentina steak. » You'll meet with a local butcher, who raises flocks of these cattle on open fields of grass. Afterwards, you'll walk the charming historic center of Panzano -- a hilltop medieval town surrounded by vineyards and farms.
